My year-end reflections
2024 has been a whirlwind - a year of going all-in to build my presence online, build my business, build my client base, and build my skill base.
Building a presence on LinkedIn has been something I have focused on, but it is also something I have immensely enjoyed.
The upside?
I’ve connected with remarkable people, not just online but in person. New opportunities have unfolded, and doors I didn’t even know existed have opened wide.
The downside?
💡 Digital burnout.
How do I recognize it?
Overwhelm: Too much, too scattered.
Disconnection: A waning desire to engage with what once inspired me.
Dependence on technology: Feeling like I can’t disconnect.
While a digital presence is part of my work toolkit and will not disappear, I’ve learned to recognize when I’m nearing burnout - whether digital, emotional, or physical. That’s when I know it’s time to hit pause and reset.
I’ll be doing exactly this next week: retreating into the wild beauty of Argentina while climbing Mt. Aconcagua. There will be no Wi-Fi, no holiday chaos, and just the raw, grounding power of mountains and nature to reconnect with myself and those around me.
I hope to return fully recharged, with renewed creativity, purpose, and the drive to show up as my best self - both online and offline.
My 2024 Reflections.
Reflecting on 2024, I find myself asking:
→ What messages will I share with the world in 2025?
→ What format will feel most authentic and meaningful?
→ How can I align even more with what I stand for?
While I don’t have all the answers yet, here’s what I do know:
→ I will never compromise on quality, no matter what algorithms demand.
→ I will keep it authentic, raw, and real because someone must.
→ I will embrace depth in my thoughts and creative expression.
2024 has also been a year when it has become more apparent to me who I am and what I stand for. Few themes have emerged.
Redefining Success
For too long, we’ve been told it’s either/or:
A career we love or financial stability.
Time for relationships or professional growth.
Successful career at the expense of our health.
The list could continue and become a very long one. However, it does not need to be either/or; it can be the equation of and/and.
When we challenge the narrative that “we can’t have it all,” we empower ourselves to create lives by choice, not chance.
This requires courage - to step beyond comfort zones, embrace personal growth, and take bold action.
I have also become more explicit on ‘my recipe’, if you will, on how to achieve this.
Step 1 - Build Awareness.
Create a vision that excites you, increase your self-awareness to assess who you are and where you are at accurately, and then declutter what no longer aligns to create space for new to enter your life: new relationships, new projects, new interests, new skills.
Step 2 - Build Commitment.
You can just show up for yourself first. And showing up only sometimes means to be there with 100%. Sometimes, we show up to survive, and sometimes we show up to thrive. In either case, we need to keep showing up, as nothing matters more than consistency.
Even when it comes to LinkedIn. I have been on this platform consistently for over a year now, and I have seen many coming and going. It's those who continue to show up for themselves first and only then, for the others are the ones winning and succeeding in making their decisions to become reality in the long term.
Step 3 - Take Action.
Build the life you envision. This goes hand in hand with showing up. Sometimes it is hard, sometimes it is easy, but if we are guided by our vision of who we want to become, the work we want to do, and the purpose we want to serve, it is easier to do than if we are lacking it. However, there is time for work, and there is time for rest, and it is up to us to notice, feel and act accordingly.
Creating Connection
The loneliness pandemic is real. The number of young people committing suicide due to the impacts of social judgment, an inability to establish self-worth, and the relentless demands of social media is frightening. But it doesn’t stop there.
Many of us grew up without being taught how to connect or witnessing what meaningful connection looks like, and we’ve carried this struggle into adulthood.
We must first learn to connect with ourselves and then build the courage to connect deeply with others.
In my work, I am grateful for having the opportunity to create safe, trusted spaces for leaders and professionals to deepen their relationships - with themselves and others. Stronger connections lead to more fulfillment in life and leadership.
Forever Evolving
We are never "finished" in our growth and development - if we choose not to be. We can continue to build our capacity and capability.
This work always begins with reflection and creating awareness of the present moment. From there, we can identify the right direction for us.
It is a rich journey of self-discovery - never dull, always exciting - and far more fulfilling than many other pursuits we could choose.
I am deeply grateful to my clients this year for allowing me to be part of their "evolving." This work brings me immense satisfaction, meaning, and personal fulfillment.
Serving and creating Impact
As I grow older, I find myself reflecting more deeply on what it means to not only serve my own life but to serve others.
This year, I’ve come to realize how many of us hesitate to step into what I call BEYOND - the place where we genuinely uncover what we’re capable of, the hidden talents we’ve buried, often out of fear or self-doubt.
But when we muster the courage and awareness to step into this space, it’s like a fire igniting from the ashes - a flame that is so fierce and vibrant that it warms those around us and casts light far and wide. I went through this as I uncovered my dormant passions and talents. This is the contribution I make to others by supporting them in finding theirs.
That’s what it means to unlock someone’s potential. It’s the moment when real impact is created.
